The captain may wait ONLY up to 2 minutes, and only if you call and request it.  This ensures that the ferry runs on time for everyone. Plan to arrive early enough to load your belongings.  If you are asking the captain to wait, you will not have time to load carts of gear and park your car.  There is a great marina store next door, and a bar at Morgan Creek Grill at the end of the road.
